Merle Whitehead
President/CEO
With over 35 years of experience in the real estate industry, Merle has grown RealtyUSA to what is now the largest independent real estate company in New York State and has emerged as a dominant local, statewide and national real estate leader. Merle’s tenacity and vision, together with a strong management team and highly skilled agents also ranked RealtyUSA #7 nationally by Real Trends for 2006.
In addition to his numerous achievements, Merle is also affiliated with New York State and National real estate organizations including; NY State Department of State Real Estate Board and Chairman of the Trends Committee, NY State Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors and the NY State Builder's Association. Most recently, Merle won the 2006 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and was named Trustee Emeriti by Hilbert College for his valuable service of over 10 years.
Residing in Orchard Park with his wife Janice, they have four grown children and two grandchildren. Merle’s interests outside of family and career include golf, cycling and marathon running; he has completed 31 marathons.
